It is a kind of a tradition for motorcyclists to get together the New Year Day at Alice. I guess at least the ones did not party until 6:00AM... I was in bed at 10:00PM, Yen worked. Alice is probably the only place open in a range of 20 miles, excluding for the hospitals.
Yes, that's ice. Needless to say Today is cold, to be honest it is very cold. We are near 3C (or may be less), which is very unusual for the Bay Area. But it has been like this for the past 2-3 weeks. Feels like Winter in Milano.
Roads were awful, icy and dirty. A good day to test how hard is the asphalt, if you are not smart. But riding in a perfect beginner style, squaring my turns at 90 degree angle I made it to the top, without knowing if the asphalt of HWY 84 is harder in summer or in winter. I guess I won't know, at least today...
