Accident with my Ducati

Well I totally pissed off.
A distracted driver managed to make a U turn while I was riding by. I couldn't avoid the impact, it was just too close. It is a classic accident, but what the hell why driver do not look properly when they attempt a U turn. They know there are motorcyclists, bicyclists and other cars around.

Dude you are not U turning in the living room of your house where there is only you! It will surprise you but there are other vehicles on the road.

What's also pissed me off is the fact that on the scene these drivers are sorry acknowledging the mistake they made. But then at night when they talked to the insurance they flipped the story. Another classic.

Anyway, it turned out that the insurances decided for a 50/50 responsibility that it was a nonsense, but what can I do...
So, my insurance paid 50% of my damages.

The big problem is that a few parts have been discontinued by Ducati and I am having troubles to find then on the after-market, OEM and eBay. Damn you dude.

So, to save some money I turned my self into a "carroziere" and fixed the fairings. Ducati did repair most of the damages for $1,500 (out of a total quote of $3.000). So at the end of the day, the insurance paid almost all, but for the muffler. Which has minor scratch. I am deciding whether to replace it with a new one or fix it.
